What To Look For in a Steam Mop
- Head Design—low profile head allows you to
get under cupboards and furniture.
- Pad Design—look
for microfibre pads that capture allergens and bacteria.
Also make sure that replacement pads are readily
available.
Some pads are disposable and designed for one use, and some are
washable and can be used many times. Ideally, pads should
be washable but easily
replaceable when they wear out. Some mops have a triangular head
and pads can be difficult to find.
- Convenience—make
sure the mop heats in 30 seconds or less so it can be used
for quick clean-up. You also want to be able to refill
the
mop while in use so you don’t need to cool it down before
refilling.
- Long cord—many mops have only a 2-3 meter cord,
making it difficult to reach the entire room without unplugging
the mop.
- Weight—save your back and sanity by making sure
the mop is lightweight.
- Price—steam mops vary in price,
so make sure you’re getting
the features you need for the price you’re willing
to pay.
